Vegetable beef stew

1# Stew meat (I cheated and bought chop suey meat so I didn't have to cut it down)

1 can each:
Sliced carrots
Sliced potatos
Whole kernel corn
Peas

1 47 oz can Tomato Juice.

Brown stew meat, seasoning to taste (I used Lawry's seasoned salt)

Pour Tomato Juice into crock pot

Add vegetables

When meat is browned, drain and add to crock pot.

Set timer to desired time, stirring occasionally.

When done, dish out and eat!

This is one of my favorites from when I was a kid.

Wedding plans

As of right now, Holly and I have a guest list assembled. We're having the wedding at the church we go to, and doing the reception in two parts: cake and punch after the ceremony, and then dinner with family and the bridal party.

Not much else to report at this time. We're looking for a hall for the family dinner, and a photographer as well. We do have a date picked, August 1, 2009.

We're trying to keep costs down, so we're going to be creative along the way. I don't think we've declared a budget officially, but I have an idea of how much we can comfortably afford.

transitioning to a Mac

Yes, I've had a Mac before, but now I'm making the transition to a Mac as my day to day system.

Last Tuesday, my dell laptop died on me, or at least, started to. I did all the usual hardware troubleshooting and determined that the motherboard was failing. Start poking around on Craigslist here in Milwaukee and find a few good laptops for around $400. Spied a couple of Apple Powerbooks in that price range and started playing email tag.

I scored a 12" powerbook, 1.5 ghz for $415 with all the original discs and literature. I like the size and it's loaded out...dvd burner, bluetooth, etc.

I love the size to horsepower ratio. In a PC notebook, you generally don't get this kind of performance in a small notebook.

For the most part, the change wasn't too hard, as I've got Mac experience. My biggest thing is crossover with my Vista Media Center. If I want to drag a show I've recorded off of it and play it on my Powerbook, can I? For the most part, not yet. I'll keep looking for a solution.

I'm putting a call out to my current Mac-owning friends....what apps are you using?
