4 years

Holly and I celebrated 4 years together this past Friday night. We had made plans to go to Friday's at the Ballpark for dinner and then attend a going away party for a friend after that.

As I was wrapping up my day at work, I was thinking about what to get Holly as a gift. Before Christmas she had mentioned she wouldn't mind an iPod, so on my way home from work, I stopped at Best Buy and bought her a 120 gigabyte iPod classic in silver. I them placed said iPod in my glovebox for later giving.

Get home, freshen up, head over to Holly's to pick her up for dinner. As we make our way up 43rd street through West Milwaukee, I ask her to fetch something for my out of my glovebox. She opens the glovebox and I tell her it's right on top, since there's no light in the glovebox. She pulls the iPod out and I ask her to "unwrap it", as it was still in the bag from the store. She removes the bag and sees she's got an iPod and is slightly stunned by it all.

We park at Friday's and head inside to get a table. There's a bit of a wait, so we get an electric coaster and head to the waiting area to sit while we wait for a table. Holly asks me if I'd like my gift now, or during dinner. Now works. She turns to open her purse and says "I wasn't sure which you wanted, so I hope this helps."

Huh?

She hands me a 4" square card with an iPhone on the front. Still not putting 2 and 2 together, I open the card. Inside is a gift card for roughly half the price of an 8 gig iPhone...

I am stunned...I had no idea she was getting me half an iPhone.

Dinner was great as was the company we met up with afterward.

I have the most amazing woman in the world, an in about 6 months, she'll be my wife.
